The Role
The vision of our Public Claims Data product is to help the life sciences industry better understand healthcare ecosystems to improve care.  The Public Claims Data product team is looking for a Healthcare Data Specialist who is passionate about data and who has hands-on experience with complex data systems and also has a desire to create and develop data products.You will work directly with the Public Claims Data team and perform health system data extraction and transformation from various data sources and assist with data reporting and preparing extractions for customers daily.In this exciting role, you will be a central player in building an innovative product using new data technologies. What You'll Do

  • Understand how to translate high-level design / requirements or Proof of Concept ideas from Claims Data EU Product Manager into actionable tasks and specifications to accomplish the goal
  • Analyze feasibility and estimate workload for every data load/transformation request (JIRA process). Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer specific questions.
  • Co-design the data model and build best data practices for data load across 15+ European countries
  • Assist in design and implementation of web scraping solutions to crawl, extract and ingest data using various tools (Mozenda, custom developed scripts, APIs, etc).
  • Build and maintain reports, KPIs, and dashboards using Tableau or SQL queries
  • Work on other data initiatives (data matching, cross-product integrations, data research)
  • Build relationships with the Data Vendors

Requirements

  • University degree in an analytical or technical field (e.g. Information Systems, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering)
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, experience in the life sciences industry
  • Hands-on experience with big database engines: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, including data profiling tools such as Talend Data Quality or SQL / datasheets
  • Hands-on experience with one or more BI tools – e.g. Tableau, Qlik, etc.
  • Good communication skills: the ability to explain complex data analysis to non-experts easily
  • Team player with the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and mutual consideration
  • Proven analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to think creatively
  • Ability to focus, work effectively under pressure and follow instructions
  • A drive for results reflecting an ownership mentality 
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data quality and process improvement
  • Experience in SaaS-based enterprise software
  • Experience with Atlassian products, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Hands-on experience/proficiency with one or more scripting/development languages – e.g. Java, Python, Shell, HTML, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux scripts and command line tool
