External Relations Manager, Global AI/ML Policy, Global AI/ML Policy

Job summary
The AWS Global AI/ML Public Policy team is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, creative, and strategic policy professional to manage and operationalize our policy partnerships. Reporting to the Lead, Global AI/ML Policy, you will be responsible for identifying and sourcing policy development and deployment stakeholders in line with our policy objectives, and running our non-governmental policy stakeholder engagement programs. You will be part of a small 2-4-person team, and will work across many cross functional groups (research, legal, product, etc).

This role requires the ability to work strategically with external actors to clarify, co-develop, and vet policy solutions to various AI/ML policy issues. You are adept at transparent, deliberative processes, at managing stakeholders and developing partnerships, at organizing group writing projects, and at organizing and running policy meetings, summits and conferences. While you are not meant to lead on substantive policy development, you can “dive deep” in AI/ML policy. You are an expert communicator and facilitator who is known to build bridges. You have a knack for finding consensus, and you have expert level organizational skills.
The AI/ML policy programs you will be responsible for are based on strategic direction/priorities from your team members, internal feedback, and customer experience. You will validate your assessment of the efficacy of the programs continuously through data and proof points.
